The Russian club CSKA Moscow have confirmed that they are unlikely to bring the Brazilian striker Vagner Love during the January transfer window. The player is currently playing for the Brazilian club Flamengo after having been sold by the Russian club only a few months back.

However, due to the inability to get a number of their top priority targets in the striking department, it has been rumoured that CSKA Moscow will be willing to negotiate a deal with Flamengo for the return of Vagner Love. The club president, though, has ruled out any such possibility, but has confirmed that the club are looking at three transfer targets for January.

CSKA have been extremely intent on bringing in the Anderlecht striker Matias Suarez, but it is thought that this transfer will fall through after the player failed to pass a medical. Despite having agreed personal terms with the player and the transfer fee with the club, CSKA look set to lose out on the signing of Suarez. The club are currently top of the Russian Premier league with a two-point advantage over the second-placed team Anzhi. They are a further five points ahead of third placed Zenit St Petersburg. CSKA are extremely thin up front due to the injuries for players like Seydou Doumbia.

“We are currently in talks with around three players of which all are legionnaires and not Russian. Two of them are for the attacking line and one is a midfielder. The attackers are versatile and will be able to play both on the left and right wing. peaking on Keisuke Honda, Giner revealed that the Moscow-based club are expecting fresh bids for the Japanese International,” said the CSKA president Yevgeni Giner in a recent interview. He also cleared the reports about the future of Keisuke Honda.
