FK Partizan is Ready for Astana: Tosic
FK Partizan will go head to head against Astana in Europa League on 3rd October 2019.
These two teams are in the Group L of Europa League along with AZ Alkmaar and group favorite Manchester United. It makes this match very important as they go in search of precious points in the group. On the matchday one, Astana was beaten by Manchester United in a 1-0 defeat and Partizan was held by AZ Alkmaar in a 2-2 draw.
These two teams have never faced each other before. Astana has not faced any Serbian club in UEFA competition and the Serbian Cup winners have never encountered any club from Kazakhstan.
FK Partizan is in good form domestically as they are in the 3rd position with 7 wins out of 9 games they have played and two draws. They finished third in the last season as well, while winning the domestic cup by beating the league champions Crvena Zvezda 1-0 in the final. They won the cup for the fourth year running.
Their record in the away games of Europa League is not great though. They have lost 10 out of the last 15 away games in the European competition. They have won only two out of the 15 matches, that too only in the 2015/16 season. However, they are looking forward to changing it all under their Head Coach Savo Milosevic. He was a player of the FK Partizan in the early 1990s and he was appointed in the same club in March 2019. Within two months of joining, he has helped the club win the Serbian club. Under him, Partizan is expected to fare better in this season’s European competition.
Zoran Tosic of Partizan told in the press conference that they are ready for the match and they are hoping for a positive result. The stage is set for a good match and everyone looking for kick-off.
