The CSKA Moscow player Vasili Berezutski has said that he is extremely confident that his team can win the title this season ahead of incredible pressure from Anzhi Makhachkala and Zenit St Petersburg.
This is turning out to be a great season in the Russian Premier league due to the competition between the different teams for the title, but CSKA Moscow appear to be in the pole position to win the title. This is also the view of the CSKA Moscow’s Vasili Berezutski. The team are currently top of the Russian Premier league with 39 points from the opening 16 matches.
They recently extended their unbeaten run in the Premier league to 7 matches, which have also been straight victories for the team. The last time they suffered a defeat was back in September, which shows the quality of the team according to the defender Vasili Berezutski. The 30-year-old is one of the crucial members of the first team. Zenit St Petersburg have 33 points, but have played a game less than both the title challenging clubs CSKA Moscow and Anzhi Makhachkala.
“We are moving in the right direction but it is better to extend our lead from the rivals such as Anzhi and Zenit respectively. We were in a good position to win the league title last season but we failed to achieve the target after disappointing performances in the last round,” said the defender in response to the challenge from Anzhi Makhachkala and Zenit St Petersburg. There are only about four matches remaining in the season, but CSKA Moscow will be facing both their title opponents in the next two matches. These two games will go along with into deciding the destination of the title according to Berezutski. Both the games will be away from home for CSKA Moscow.

CSKA Moscow has defeated Alania Vladikavkaz in a match of the Russian Premier League by 2-0. The match was played at Arena Khimki which is the home ground of CSKA Moscow and the home supporters would have had a lot of fun while watching the match. It was a one sided encounter which was dominated by the Moscow team right from the outset. With this victory, the Moscow team has moved up to no. 2 in the points table.
CSKA Moscow has played 8 matches so far and has gained a total of 18 points. Terek Gozny, which is at the top of the table, has one point more than Moscow. The Moscow players were aggressive in the first half, but, they weren’t able to score any goal in the first 45 minutes. The Red Army took the lead in the 4th minute of the second half when Keisuke Honda found the net with a superb shot. The Nigerian international, Ahmed Musa, set up the goal and Honda made full use of the opportunity. It was Honda again who doubled the lead of his team in the 54th minute of the match. The second goal was also set up by Musa. He gave a precise pass to Honda who scored his second goal in the match.
The manager of CSKA Moscow, Leonid Slutsky, was delighted with the performance of Musa and Honda in the match. As per Slutsky, these two guys were superb today. There was brilliant coordination between both of them. It was one of those matches in which nothing went wrong for the team. It’s wonderful that the team is just one point behind Terek Gozny. Hopefully, the players would keep performing well in the further matches and take the team to no. 1 spot in the points table.

The CSKA Moscow striker Ahmed Musa has said that that he wants to emulate the success of the Ivory Coast international Seydou Doumbia, who is one of the recognised strikers in Russia.
The 24-year-old Ivory Coast international Seydou Doumbia has been linked with some of the best clubs in the world like Barcelona and Chelsea. The Russian club recently secured the services of the 19-year-old striker Ahmed Musa, who plays for the Nigerian country. However, having held from the same continent, Ahmed Musa is keen to emulate the success of the Ivory Coast international.
He said the desire to overtake the Ivory Coast international after scoring his first goal for the club. CSKA Moscow recently secured a 3-0 win over Samara to keep in touch with the leaders. Ahmed Musa scored the third goal for the Russian club in the match. This may be the first goal scored by the player, but he has already been influential for the team. He recently set up the winning goal for CSKA Moscow in the match against Swedish side AIK in the Europa league play-offs. This helped the Russian club win the match 1-0 and has put them in a strong position to qualify for the group stages of the Europa league.
“I was very happy to score my season’s first goal. I hope I will be able to score many more goals this season and win the title with CSKA. I’m not yet a top-class scorer like my teammate Seydou Doumbia, who was top scorer in the Russian league last season, but I’m doing my best to become like him. We have won 3-0 our two last matches in the Russian league and grabbed an away win in the Europa League. We are now on the rise after a rocky start to the new season. I believe we can win the Russian title if we continue playing this way,” said 19-year-old Musa.

Former Manchester United winger Zoran Tosic has said that Spartak Moscow is his most favourite enemy. CSKA Moscow continued their impressive run in the table after winning against Spartak Moscow recently. The 2-1 win over their rivals has helped CSKA Moscow to move into the third position in the table.
Zoran Tosic has said that the players should be looking at the prospect of continuing their run in order to win the league title this season. He also said that Spartak Moscow are his favourite team to play against. The Serbian winger scored the two goals in a match for CSKA Moscow, as they helped themselves to yet more three points.
Zoran Tosic also said that David Beckham is a huge influence on his career after he learned a lot in football from the former Manchester United midfielder while he was at Old Trafford. Zoran Tosic spent a few years at Old Trafford, but had to ultimately leave the club recently in order to get first team football. He has been getting exactly that at CSKA Moscow. Even though he has played in many derbies during his career, the winger has said that there is an extra motivation within him when it comes to the matches against Spartak Moscow.
“Derby against Spartak has always been special for me. I know how important they are for all people in the club, for the fans and the entire team. So, that gives you an extra motivation. I think Spartak are my favourite enemy. Now the mood has changed and we are confident in our abilities. We are still in the race for second place. It is our goal, we want the Champions League. Now, it seems easier than it was a few games ago. But the next two games are crucial for us,” said Tosic.

CSKA Moscow last out badly in their plans to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League. They suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of French team Lille, although it would have been extremely hard for CSKA Moscow to get anything from the match in the first place.
This is because they were missing a number of key players like Zoran Tosic and their top scorer Seydou Doumbia. While Zoran Tosic was injured, Seydou Doumbia missed the match after being suspended for a red card. Russian teams have not been doing well on the Champions League this season, and the 2-0 defeat is no surprise at this stage of the competition.
Due to the significant number of first-team players missing from the action, CSKA Moscow struggled to make any impact on the match, despite being at home. Hence, it was not surprising to know that Lille dominated the Russian team for most of the match. Their first major chance came in the 20th minute, but Moscow did enough to prevent the French team from taking the lead. However, they could not do anything about the penalty they conceded in the 39th minute, which was then converted by Franck Beria.
Eden Hazard and Joe Cole has been in excellent form for Lille this season in very much the same way Zoran Tosic has been for CSKA Moscow. They two combined to produce a magical performance, which led to the second goal 15 min later. “It’s a fair defeat. Injury problems didn’t allow us to show our best football. As soon as our players are getting a bit better and they have to go out on the pitch right away. Of course, it was a huge setback in a game against such skillful opponents as Lille,” Leonid Slutsky, CSKA coach, said.
